David G. Townsend
Prior to founding Five Points Capital in 1997, David was an investment banker in the Atlanta office of Stephens, Inc., where he provided merger and acquisition advisory services to both public and private companies. At Stephens, Inc., David was also involved in direct equity investing of the firm’s capital for growth and buyouts. Prior to joining Stephens, Inc., David was with Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance group where he provided merger and acquisition advisory services to companies in a variety of industries. He serves on the not-for-profit boards of The Reynolda House Museum of American Art, Senior Services of Forsyth County Foundation and Old Town Club.
David received an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business with concentrations in finance and accounting, and a BA in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
